I have four directions, it seems. Four seasons, four elements, four sides, four corners. The foundation of life, it turns out, is four. And yet we were always shown the sacred three. Three was the easy part. It was four that was truly difficult.
Here I am, on another level again. This time, the Goddess gave me some of her walnuts. Abundant walnuts gathered from the walnut tree. As I cracked them open, things began to reveal themselves. Which direction was I, and where was the direction I did not know? East and West were opposites. So were South and North. While I took pride in my South, my North wanted to exist. While I ignored the East, the East wanted to come alive.
The further I went back, the more I saw. The deeper I descended, the more I began to understand. I still do not know how to bring them into balance. But I know that, in time, I will learn how to make amends for this too, down in my own dark passageways.
