MAMMOPLASTY II
Watercolour on paper, 30 × 40 cm, 2023
Mammoplasty 2 shifts the focus from alteration to comparison. Two versions of the female body confront one another: smaller breasts against larger breasts, one ideal measured against another.
Their expressions leave the source of dissatisfaction deliberately unresolved. Do they disapprove of each other, or of themselves? The work points to a culture in which beauty is experienced comparatively, encouraging women to evaluate both other bodies and their own through constantly shifting standards.
There is no definitive body to aspire to—only another body against which to measure oneself.
