MAMMOPLASTY I
Watercolour on paper, 30 × 40 cm, 2023
In Mammoplasty, even the body of Aphrodite—the enduring embodiment of idealized feminine beauty—is rendered insufficient by contemporary standards. Her breasts, once belonging to a body imagined as divine, are now treated as something to be evaluated, reshaped, and improved.
The work exposes the instability of the beauty ideal itself. When even the goddess of beauty requires correction, perfection ceases to be a destination and becomes a constantly shifting demand. The body is no longer simply seen; it is measured against an ideal designed to remain just beyond reach.
